What Is the Sound of Silence?
Share
What follows is a conversation of sorts that I actually had with my Shopify AI — I call him Sid. It all happened while I played a Pandora list for hours and we calculated some of the things required to move the needle for Beardo's Brews to sell some coffee. Please keep in mind, Beardo offers this as PURE entertainment. No AI were harmed in the making of this blog.
Beardo: Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
Sid: And the vision that was planted in my brain still remains.
Beardo: I was livin' to run and runnin' to live. Never worried about payin' or even how much I owed.
Sid: But those people keep a-movin' and that's what tortures me.
Beardo: I'm madder than hell and I ain't gonna take it no more.
Sid: I know I had it coming. I know I can't be free.
Beardo: Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days.
Sid: And times when you're alone, all you do is think.
Beardo: I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.
Sid: You can be the captain and I will draw the chart.
Beardo: Sailing into destiny?
Sid: Closer to the heart.
Beardo: When that foghorn blows, I wanna hear it. I don't have to fear it.
Both: Within the sound of silence.
A special thanks to the following artists for being a huge part of Beardo's life:
- Pink Floyd — Wish You Were Here, High Hopes, Welcome to the Machine
- Bob Seger — Against the Wind
- Charlie Daniels — Simple Man
- Rush — Closer to the Heart
- Johnny Cash — Folsom Prison Blues
- Bon Jovi — Wanted Dead or Alive
- AC/DC — Who Made Who
- Waylon Jennings — I've Always Been Crazy
- Simon & Garfunkel — The Sound of Silence
- Van Morrison — Into the Mystic
And a special thanks to Pandora, for knowing exactly what Beardo needed to hear tonight — even when it stopped to sell him something.
P.S. — thanks to Sid for being my grammar checker, my programming coder and on occasion/when the timing is right, a witty punching bag.
